FORT WORTH – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team fell to #8 TCU, 84–56 on Wednesday night at Schollmaier Arena.
UIW had two players finish in double figures. Jorja Elliott led the Cardinals with 17 points, six rebounds, and a game-high three blocks, while Morgan Borgstadt added 16 points. Londyn Oliphant ran the offense with three assists, six points, and two steals.
The Cardinals opened strong, trailing just 21–15 after the first quarter. TCU created separation in the second period, outscoring UIW 23–15 to take a 44–30 lead into halftime. UIW responded with a 5–0 run to open the third and held the Horned Frogs to 14 points in the frame, but TCU carried a 58–39 advantage into the fourth. The Horned Frogs closed the night shooting 53% in the final quarter, outscoring UIW 26–17 to secure the win.
UIW returns home on Thursday, December 11, to face St. Mary's (TX) at the McDermott Center. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
