SAN ANTONIO, TX – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team rolled past McNeese State in straight sets, earning a commanding 3-0 sweep to remain undefeated in Southland Conference play.
Set 1: UIW 25 (1), MCN 21 (0)
McNeese controlled much of the opening frame, leading 21-19 late, but the Cardinals responded with a dominant 6-0 run to steal the set and take a 1-0 lead. The Red and Black showcased a balanced attack, with four players tallying three kills apiece, while hitting an impressive .324 as a team and limiting the Cowgirls to just a .056 clip.
Set 2: UIW 25 (2), MCN 13 (0)
The Cardinals controlled the tempo in set two, building a double-digit lead to surge ahead 2-0. UIW's offense was firing on all cylinders, hitting an impressive .378 as a team while holding McNeese to just .148. Kitana Tu'ufuli fueled the Red and Black attack with a set-high seven kills.
Set 3: UIW 25 (3), MCN 13 (0)
The Cardinals carried their momentum into the final set, surging ahead by as many as 12 points to complete the sweep over McNeese. Tu'ufuli once again led the way, recording five kills in the decisive frame to cap off a dominant performance.
UIW continues its homestand on Thursday, hosting UTRGV at the McDermott Center. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
