LAKE CHARLES, La. – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team split its road trip to Lake Charles, picking up a win against the Cowgirls, but falling to Florida A&M.    

Game 1: UIW 1, FAMU 3 

The Cardinals took set one to the Rattlers before dropping the next three in the loss to FAMU. Finley Evans led the way in kills with 11. Calissa Allison recorded 26 assists and 16 digs, while Risa Sena tallied added three blocks.  

Game 2: UIW 3, MCN 2 

UIW and McNeese played a tight match throughout. Down two sets to one the Cardinals came back winning sets four and five to secure the win. Allison recorded her third triple-double of the season with 12 kills, 22 assists, and 15 digs. Kade Thomas recorded five blocks and Alex Beauchamp led the Cardinals in digs with 17. 

The Cardinals are back in action Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 at the New Mexico State Tournament.
