SAN ANTONIO – On Friday at Sullivan Field, sponsored by H-E-B, the University of the Incarnate Word baseball team lost the series opener to Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU) 9-0.  

A two-run home run in the second opened the scoring for the Lions.  

After three scoreless innings, SLU extended its lead to 5-0 on a two-run home run and RBI single in the sixth. 

The Lions used a solo home run in the seventh and a two-run double in the ninth to bring the final score to 9-0. 

The Cardinals and Lions continue the series on Saturday, May 11. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
