SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team is on a six-game win streak in conference play after sweeping Northwestern State University this past weekend. The Cardinals travel to Texas State for a midweek game at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 before putting the team's conference winning streak to the test against No.1 seed Lamar in a three-game series April 26-28.

The Cardinals are currently 23-15 overall and 8-4 in SLC play following a series sweep over Northwestern State University last weekend. UIW has now moved up to fourth in the current conference standings.

Dalton Beck leads the conference in hits with 66. Beck has 12 home runs, and 50 RBIs this season to lead the team batting .420. Cameron Caley is another key contributor for the Cardinals, recording 50 hits with 35 RBIs and 50 runs scored. Caley leads the conference in walks with 46.

Josh Salinas is 4-1 this season through 45 innings of work. He's tallied 46 strikeouts, two complete games, and one shutout through his nine starts on the mound.
Scouting the Bobcats

Texas State is 20-21 this season and 7-11 in the Sunbelt Conference. Last week, the Bobcats dropped a 2-1 series against South Alabama.

Ryne Farber is batting .378 this season for the Bobcats totaling 34 hits, 20 RBIs and 24 runs scored. Austin Eaton is 3-3 this season, striking out 35 batters in 45 innings pitched.

Texas State is currently eleventh in the Sunbelt Conference standings.
Scouting the Cardinals

Lamar is 30-8 this season and 9-3 in the Southland Conference. This past weekend the Cardinals dropped a 2-1 series against Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

River Orsak is batting .340 this season totaling 49 hits, 34 RBIs and 32 runs scored. Brooks Caple is 5-3 this season, striking out 65 batters in 62.2 innings pitched.
