SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team travels to the state's capital for its lone game of the week, Tuesday evening. The Cardinals and the No. 23 Longhorns face off at UFCU Disch-Faulk Field, with the game's first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Infielder/Outfielder Ryan Scott has 23 hits with 11 RBIs and 23 runs scored to lead the team, batting .523. Scott has the fourth best batting average in Division I. Outfielder/LHP Dalton Beck is another key contributor for the Cardinals with 30 hits, three home runs, and 18 RBIs this season while batting .441. Beck is tied third in Division I in hits. Outfielder/DH Cameron Caley is tied eighth in Division I with 20 walks. Infielder Grant Randall is second in Division I with four triples.

Josh Salinas is 1-0 this season in four starts. In 18 innings of work Salinas has allowed four earned runs on ten hits, while striking out 21 batters

This past week the Cardinals went 5-0 with midweek wins against UTRGV and PVAMU and a series sweep of Texas Southern.

The University of Texas is 9-6 this season after going 2-2 this past week.

After finishing 42-22 last season, the Longhorns were picked to finish second in the Big 12.

Peyton Powell is batting .453 this season with 29 hits, 24 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Lebarron Johnson Jr. is 1-1 this season, striking out 23 batters while giving up eight earned runs in 20.1 innings pitched.
