HAMMOND, LA. – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team lost to the Southeastern Louisiana Lions 64-76, splitting their two games in Louisiana.
The first half was a roller coaster for the Cardinals. UIW fell behind early but was able to rally behind three straight 3-pointers, followed up by an
Alex Anderson alley-oop to
Sky Wicks to take a 22-21 lead with just over seven minutes to go in the half. The Cards struggled through the reminder od the half and went into the break down 24-36.
Through the first 10 minutes of the second half the Cardinals stuck around, with
Sky Wicks scoring eight more points and making him the only Cardinal in double figures. 43-49. Unfortunately for the Cards, that was as close as it would get. The Lions starting five continued to score well in the final minutes of the game and UIW fell by a final score of 64-76.
