COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The University of the Incarnate Word baseball put up three runs on the No. 8 ranked Texas A&M team on Tuesday evening. This is the most runs the Aggies have given up this season during the 9-3 Cardinal loss at Blue Bell Park. Â
The Aggies took their first lead in the home half of the first on a solo home run to go up 1-0.Â
In the second, Cameron Caley gave UIW a 2-1 lead on a two-run double to left center. Later in the inning, TAMU retook the lead on a two-run single, going up 3-2. Â
The Aggies added a run with a solo homer in the fourth to extend the lead to 4-2. TAMU put up a run in the fifth on a solo shot and a two-run home run by the Aggies in the seventh stretched the lead to 8-2.Â
The Cardinals added a run in the eighth on a fielder's choice to bring the score to 8-3. Later in the inning, TAMU drove in its final run on a solo home run to bring the score to 9-3.Â
UIW moves on to face UIC Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Sullivan Field, sponsored by H-E-B, and will close out its week against Alcorn State in a three-game series at home. Â
