Men's Basketball Takes on Duke in Durham

DURHAM, NC – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team lost to the Duke Blue Devils 72-46 at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina on Tuesday night.
 
Jalin Anderson and Dylan Hayman were the only two Cardinals to score in double-figures each with 11 points.
 
The Cards took the first lead of the game when Jayden Williams was fouled and sent to the line. The Blue Devils responded with a quick bucket, but UIW didn't back down as Jalin Anderson and Williams scored the next few points of the game, putting UIW up 5-2. UIW was active on the defensive end forcing six turnovers in the first 10 minutes but trailed 12-8.
 
Down the stretch in the first half UIW proved that they could hang with the best in the nation holding the Bule Devils to their lowest score in the first half this season of at just 28. The Cardinals went into the locker room down seven, 28-21
 
UIW remained consistent offensively in the second half, scoring 25 points with eight different players contributing. This difference coming on the defensive side of the ball. Duke found a rhythm and Isaiah Evans led the way scoring 14 of Duke's 44 second half points.
 
In the end UIW fell to Duke by a final score 72-46.
