HOUSTON – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team dropped its Tuesday night matchup, 18-25, 20-25, 13-25, to Houston Christian at the Sharp Gym.
The Cardinals (14-8, 7-5) ended its winning streak at five matches with the loss to the Huskies.
Kyla Malone led UIW in kills with seven.
Kade Thomas, the Cardinals leader in blocks recorded 4 blocks to bring her season total to 86.
Senior setter, Anuhea Faitau led the Cardinals in assists with 11.
Audrey Patton led the team in digs with 11 on the evening.
Set 1: UIW 18 (0), HCU 25 (1)
The Huskies used an early 9-2 run to take control of the set. The Cardinals pulled within six late, but HCU came away with the set one win.
Set 2: UIW 20 (0), HCU 25 (2)
HCU used a 5-0 run late in the set to pull away from UIW to take a two-set lead.
Set 3: UIW 13 (0), HCU 25 (3)
The Cardinals failed to hold a lead in the final set to fall to the Huskies.
The Cardinals are on the road Thursday night as they take on Northwestern State for the second time this season.
