SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team start conference play this week against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi at 5 p.m. CT Saturday evening. This will be a double header with the women's team who will tip off at 2 p.m. and Military Appreciation day.

- A&M-Corpus Christi has used a balance scoring attack this season as a pair of Islanders average 10.5 points per game in Dian Wright-Forde and Garry Clark.
- After claiming the Southland Conference championship last season, TAMU-CC finished non-conference play with the second-best record in the SLC.
- The Islanders have been crashing the boards hard this season with 546 rebounds, nearly more than 100 team rebounds than the second best team.
