HOUSTON – The University of the Incarnate Word track & field teams competed in the Robert Platt Invitational this weekend at the University of Houston.
The Cardinals had eight top 10 performances at the meet.
Ashlyn Royal had the highest finish, taking second place in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:54.84 minutes, this is the fourth fastest time in the Stoutland Conference. Abbigail Morrow placed fifth jumping 1.7 meters in the high jump and the team of
Eliana Battle, Lexie Leal,
Didi Garcia, and
Danielle Salinas placed sixth in the distance medley relay in 12:39.34 minutes. Both of these marks rank third in the Southland Conference. The women's 4x400 relay, made up of
Aleah Constantine,
Dasya Tolbert,
Alicia Ziegler, and Isabella Gonzalez-Velasq placed 10
th at the Robert Platt Invitational.
On the men's side,
Alexandre Fetizon ran a 4:15.88 mile and
Garrett Stokes made a 18.05 meter weight throw, placing seventh in Houston.
Kyle Sieracki took fourth after scoring 5294 points in the Heptathlon, this is the best score in the SLC this season.
Candan Martin, 8.12 second 60-meter hurdles, and Alissa Novosad, 3.55-meter pole vault, both ranked fourth in the Southland Conference in their respective events.
