Box Score SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team defeated Our Lady of the Lake Saints 83-74 in their final non-conference game of the season.
Josh Morgan had 24 points and tied his career game high, with seven 3-pointers in the win.
The Cardinals found themselves down 2-6 coming out of the gates. However, UIW responded draining five 3-pointers in the first 10 minutes of the game, taking the lead and control of the game 26-19. UIW maintained that lead for the next 10 minutes and went into the break up 45-31.
Josh Morgan was the only Cardinal in double figures after 20 minutes with 15. All of his points came from 3-point plays, he tied his 2023-24 game high knocking down four shots behind the arc and made an acrobatic and-one layup to close out the half.
In the second half the Cardinals continued to put the ball in the bucket. Led by
Josh Morgan who knocked down three more 3-pointers, all but one UIW player put points on the board, and was able to push the lead to 21 with five minutes remaining. Despite the offensive output the Saints were able to make a late push. OLLU went on a 14-1 run cutting the lead to six, 78-72.
UIW went on to score back-to-back buckets, securing the 83-74 win.
