SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team lost to Lamar University, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium.
Lamar controlled most of the game, finishing with 12 shots (ten on goal). Lamar scored both goals in the first half. Lamar's first goal came in the 8th minute and the team's second came in the 29th minute.
The Cardinals finished the afternoon with seven shots (four on goal) in the loss.
Goalkeeper Erica Defferding finished the game allowing two goals with eight saves while playing the entire 90 minutes.
Offensively, forward Sierra Wannamaker tallied three shots (one on goal) while playing 84 minutes.
