Box Score NATCHITOCHES, La. – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team fell to Northwestern State University, 10-4, Saturday afternoon at Brown-Stroud Field.
Alec Carr accounted for half of the Cardinals' hits finishing with two in the loss. Carr, Wilson Ehrhardt, and Sterling Sutcliffe each drove in one RBI each.
The Demons put up three runs in the home half of the first to take a quick 3-0 lead.
After two scoreless innings, the Demons added to their lead in the fourth on a solo home run to extend the lead to 4-0.
Ehrhardt singled in a run in the top of the fifth to bring the score to 4-1. Later in the inning, the Demons drove in two runs to bring the score to 6-1.
The Demons extended the lead to 7-1 on an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth.
Carr sent his second home run of the series over the center field wall in the seventh to bring the score to 7-2. Later in the inning, the Demons drove in three runs on two home runs to bring the score to 10-2.
The Cardinals didn't go down without a fight in the ninth, driving in two runs to bring the final score to 10-4.
