The Cardinals dropped to seventh place after two losses last week, but are still in a position to make the conference tournament in two weeks. There were a few standouts for the Cardinals last week. Josh Morgan had a season-high 23 points and a career-high 3-pointers made with seven in UIW's game against Nicholls last week. Jonathan Cisse only missed one free throw going 13-14 from the line last week, giving him the best free throw percentage in the conference at 88 percent.

Northwestern State currently is sitting in second place in the conference. The Demons have some dangerous scorers on the wings. Demarcus Sharp leads the SLC in scoring 18.21 points per game and Ja'Monta Black is fourth averaging 16.41 points.

Texas A&M - Commerce is in the middle of the pack, ranked fifth in the SLC. Their last-second, one-point victory over Nicholls was number 100 for head coach Jaret Von Rosenberg. Isaac Mushila leads both the Lions and the conference in rebounds, grabbing 9.71 boards per game.
