SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team is on the road in Louisiana this week for matchups at the University of Southeastern Louisiana at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, and against the University of New Orleans on Saturday at 4 p.m.

After losing the first four games of the year, which included losses to New Orleans and Southeastern Louisiana, the Cardinals have since gone on a roll, winning the last four games in a row to move up to sixth place in the Southland Conference standings. This is the longest win streak against Division I opponents in school history. Last week, Stephon Payne III recorded his first double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Josh Morgan knocked down a season-high four 3-pointers in the game on Saturday.

The Lions sit in first place in the Southland with a 7-2 conference record to go along with SLU's 13-9 overall record. SLU is second in the SLC offensive rankings, shooting 45 percent from the field and averaging just above 78 points per game.

After falling in both games to SLU last week, UNO's losing streak has been extended to five games and the Privateers are sitting at ninth in the Southland. One bright spot for the UNO is junior guard, Jordan Johnson is leading the Southland Conference in scoring, averaging 17 points per game.
