FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team ended the year at Arkansas where the Cardinals fell, 67-48, to the Razorbacks.
Jorja Elliott and
Aliyah Collins contributed 10 points apiece while
Destiny Terrell pulled down 11 rebounds and
Nina De Leon Negron dished out six assists. The Cardinal bench added 20 points on the day.
A single free throw from Arkansas started off the game before UIW embarked on a 7-0 run. The Razorbacks were quick to regain the lead, ending the quarter with a 14-10 edge.
Arkansas went cold the last four and a half minutes of the second quarter, knocking down only three free throws, while the Cardinals pressed forward with eight points to cut the lead to seven at the half (27-20).
The third quarter saw the Cardinals within three points, 29-26, after three quick unanswered buckets, however, the Razorbacks took back the momentum and went on to win the game 67-48.
