SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team took down the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff last night, 100-81. This is the second consecutive game that the Cardinals have scored in the triple digits, its the first time UIW has done this sice 2014.
Josiah Hammons led the way, scoring 21 points,
Sky Wicks added 20 and
Shon Robinson scored 19.
UIW was able to jump out to a small lead early, grabbing six offensive rebounds and scoring 22 of their 24 points in the paint through 10 minutes of the game.
Elijah Davis and
Josiah Hammons were able to find their rhythm in the first half, both finishing with 11 points and helping UIW maintain a 50-41 lead heading into the break.
The second half was virtually the same as the first. The Cardinals scored 50 more points and the Golden Lions scored 40. UIW once again dominated on the boards out rebounding UAPB 20-8 in the half. The main difference being
Sky Wicks and
Shon Robinson leading the way for the Cardinals both scoring 13 points in the second half.
