The Cardinals continued to capitalize on the momentum extending the lead to 12 before ending the half with an eight-point advantage (30-22). Behind Elliott's four first-half 3-pointers, UIW headed into the locker room shooting 75 percent from beyond the arc and 60 percent from the field in the third.
The Cardinals' hot hands carried into the third, as UIW went 5-8 from the 3-point line to take as much as a 15-point lead (41-26). SLU chipped away at the lead the rest of the game, but the Lions could not catch up to the Cardinals as UIW took the game, 55-49.
