The Cardinals went 13-19 last season and finished fifth in the final Southland Conference standings. With the return of Head Coach
Samantha Dabbs Thomas, along addition of assistant coach
McKenzie Brewer, the Cardinals look forward to the 2022-23 season.
With the exciting returns of a few veteran players, the Cardinals have added six new fresh faces in the offseason. Recent transfer
Taylor Stoops is set to make a splash this season after earning several all-conference accolades in the Lone Star Conference prior to her time at UIW. Opponents will also have to keep an eye out for returning players
Annamarie Alvarez and
Jacqueline Arrington. Arrington was second in the Southland Conference for total blocks last season whereas Alvarez recorded a top ten conference finish in average kills per set. Both are in their junior seasons at UIW.
The Cardinals look to start off hot in their home opener this weekend.
