EDINBURG, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team fell to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), 9-3, on Tuesday night.
 
The Vaqueros used a sacrifice fly to center field in the third inning to bring a runner home and take a 1-0 lead.
 
UTRGV scored five more runs before a home run from Zach Limas put UIW on the board in the top of the seventh (6-1).
 
The Vaqueros scored once more in the bottom of the inning and twice in the eighth frame (9-1).

In the ninth, Hernan Yanez hit an RBI single to center field, then a single from Jimmy De Leon brought Yanez across home plate, but UTRGV won the game, 9-3.
