HOUSTON – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team fell to Houston Baptist University (HBU), 82-68, on Thursday night at Sharp Gym.
Josh Morgan and RJ Glasper finished the night with 23 points apiece.
Morgan started the Cardinals off with 13 consecutive points to open the game.
Brandon Swaby and
Benjamin Griscti each knocked down a 3-pointer and UIW took its largest lead of the half, 19-11. The Huskies knotted the game at 24-24, but the Cardinals reclaimed their lead and headed to the locker room up, 35-34.
HBU took its largest lead (73-59) with two minutes left in the game following a 15-0 run. Glasper stopped UIW's scoring drought with a floater down the middle of the lane and a pull up trey in transition to cut the lead to ten (76-66). The Huskies ultimately won the game, 82-68.
