SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team travels to Louisiana for a pair of games, facing Northwestern State University (NSU) and Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU). The Cardinals face the Demons on Thursday, Jan. 27, at 7:30 p.m. CT. UIW then takes on the Lions on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 4 p.m.

LAST TIME THEY MET
UIW last faced NSU during the inaugural Southland Conference Basketball Tip-Off Event on Jan. 7 in Katy, Texas. The Cardinals battled hard through the entire 40 minutes before the Demons secured the nail-bitter victory, 83-80. 
 
The Cardinals last faced the Lions on Feb. 8, 2021, when UIW topped SLU, 82-75, at the McDermott Center. 
 
UIW 
UIW is coming off a tough week of Southland Conference play. The Cardinals fell in two close matchups against Houston Baptist University and McNeese State University. 
 
NSU
The Demons are on a four-game losing streak after falling to Nicholls State University and the University of New Orleans (UNO) last week. 
 
SLU 
The Lions are coming off a split road weekend where they fell to UNO on Thursday and turned around to defeat Nicholls on Saturday. 
 
UIW PLAYER TO WATCH 
	- RJ Glasper leads the Cardinal offense, averaging 14.6 points per game.
- Johnny Hughes III has registered 99 rebounds this season for the Cardinals. 
- Charlie Yoder is coming off a season-best performance against McNeese where he registered 25 points. 
- Drew Lutz leads the Cardinals in assists, totaling 78; he also averages 4.1 assists per game.
