SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team hosted Southeast Missouri State (SEMO) for its first matchup of the UIW Thanksgiving Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Cardinals fell to the Redhawks, 79-76.
The Cardinals had four student-athletes score in double figures. RJ Glasper finished with 19 points, while
Drew Lutz followed with 17.
Johnny Hughes III added 14 points and
Benjamin Griscti contributed 12.
UIW went on a 12-point run with three minutes left in the first half to take the lead, 26-22, and eventually end the half up five points (39-34).
The Cardinals extended their lead to 10 just three minutes into the second half. The Redhawks answered with seven quick points before going on to take a six-point lead. UIW and SEMO traded baskets until the Redhawks secured the game, 79-76.
