SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team competed against Montana State University (MSU) on day two of the UIW Thanksgiving Invitational. The Cardinals fell to the Bobcats, 83-64.
Johnny Hughes III finished with a career-high 25 points and
Dylan Hayman contributed 12 points for the Cardinals.
The Bobcats drained three 3-pointers to take a 9-0 lead four minutes into the game. Hughes came off the bench to score 11 points in the first half for the Cardinals, but Montana State ended the half up, 38-22.
Montana State extended its lead in the second half. Godsgift Ezedinma hit back-to-back treys for the Cardinals and Hughes continued his dominant play, but MSU ultimately won the game, 83-64.
UP NEXT
On the final day of the UIW Thanksgiving Invitational, the Cardinals host the University of Portland. The Sunday game is set to tip off at 2 p.m.
