Swim and dive earn CSCAA Scholar All-America nods

SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams for Fall 2020.

"Our kids persevered during a new normal for learning with a few bumps, but they could have given up many times, sand I'm proud they did not," said head coach Phillip Davis.

"I'm very proud of our academic advisor Garrett Hotchkiss for pushing ALL of our athletes to excel in the classroom. Stay tuned because we expect even higher grades this spring."

The men's team, with a GPA of 3.06, was one of 119 swim & dive teams in the nation recognized and the women's squad, with a 3.63 GPA, was one of 183 teams in Division I.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advocate the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development.
