SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word Athletics Department has formed a partnership with Express Chiropractic and Wellness, who is now the official chiropractor partner for UIW Athletics.
 
"We are excited about this new partnership with Dr. William Ursprung and Kevin Edgerton of Express Chiropractic and Wellness," said Sal Cervantes, assistant director of athletics/sports medicine. "They both have great knowledge in their fields, and the passion they share in providing high-quality health care to their patients will now translate to our student-athletes. This will greatly benefit our UIW student-athletes as they will now have the ability to be treated by a chiropractor on campus!"
 
Chiropractors Dr. William Ursprung and Kevin Edgerton LMT are providing various services for UIW student-athletes, including myofascial release tissue massage, myofascial release stretching, and manual adjustments for the back, neck and hips.
 
Express Chiropractic is a 100 percent veteran-owned business. Ursprung, a former Navy Combat Diver, is a licensed chiropractor with more than 15 years of practice experience. Edgerton, the co-owner of Express Chiropractic and Wellness and a licensed massage therapist, is a retired US Army Special Forces Detachment Commander (Green Beret) with 26 years of service.
 
"Kevin and I are both veterans with a passion for health and wellness and a mission to serve our local community," said Ursprung. "We are thrilled to bring such a unique chiropractic and massage experience to Alamo Heights, and to the UIW Athletics Department and community. Healthy movement is essential for optimal performance."
 
Student-athletes have the ability to see the chiropractors and licensed massage therapist on campus in the athletic training room, or at their offices at the Broadway location by appointment. The services are also open to UIW coaches and staff by appointment either on campus or at the Broadway location.
 
UIW employees and students can use the chiropractor services at a UIW rate as well by showing a UIW ID. The UIW rate is as follows:

• $29 intro visit for faculty, staff, and employees/$19 intro visit for students (regular price is $39)
• $39/month maintenance plan (regular price is $49)
• $59 Freedom Flex Plan (regular price is $79)
