ABILENE, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team takes on the highest-scoring offense in the Southland Conference, Abilene Christian, at 4:30 p.m. (CT) on Saturday at Moody Coliseum. The matchup is set to be broadcast on ESPN3.

SERIES HISTORY
The Cardinals are 5-15 when taking on the Wildcats. UIW conceded the series against ACU last season, but split the series during the 2017-18 campaign. The Cardinals are 2-8 when playing the Wildcats in Abilene.
UIW IN THE SOUTHLAND
UIW has maintained the fourth-best defense in the conference, limiting opponents to 59.6 points per game. The Cardinals improved to 72.1 percent from the free-throw line, moving the team up to third-best in the league. UIW's 28.2 percent accuracy from beyond the arc stands sixth-best in the league.
CARDINALS ON THE LEADERBOARDS
Senior guard
Imani Robinson's 12.8 points per game leads the Cardinals and ranks 11th in the SLC. Meanwhile, her 39.9 percent accuracy from the field puts her among the top 20. Junior guard
Kara Speer's 7.4 rebounds are fifth on the Southland leaderboard and her 5.2 defensive boards rate fourth-best. Seniors Robinson and
Lunden Henry swat away 0.8 shots per game, putting them among the top 20 for blocks in the conference.
Victoria Jackson averages 1.8 steals per contest putting her along with Robinson's 1.6 steals in the top 20 as well.
TRIPLE THREAT
Three Cardinals continue to rank among the best 3-point shooters in the league -
Kara Speer,
Macy Ray and
Brittney Stafford. Speer's 36.5 percent accuracy is eighth in the SLC, while her 1.1 3-pointers per game is ranked 22nd-best. Stafford, a freshman, is shooting 30.6 percent from beyond the arc, which rates 19th-best in the league. Ray's 28.1 percent from three is No. 22 in the SLC, while her 1.4 3-pointers per contest rank No. 16.
RECORD BOOK ROBINSON
Earlier this season, senior guard
Imani Robinson recorded her 1,000th career point against St. Thomas. She is the first to reach the milestone since Ifunanya Mora (2010-14). Her 1,172 career points and 185 offensive rebounds rank seventh in program history, while her 1,038 attempted field goals rate eighth best. The 5-11 guard is also in the career record book at UIW for her 343 made free throws (2nd) and 453 attempted (3rd) as well as 68 blocks (2nd).
DOUBLE DIGITS
UIW has had three or more Cardinals score in double-figures on seven separate occasions this season. The team is 7-0 in those games. Cardinals are 8-4 when
Imani Robinson scores in double figures, every time UIW has won, Robinson scored in double digits.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
- Abilene Christian picked up its second conference loss on Wednesday against SFA, 69-59, and is now 7-2 in the Southland and 15-3 overall.
- The Wildcats score an average of 80.9 points, while shooting 48.3 percent from the field, 38.2 from 3-point range and 73.8 from the free-throw line, all conference bests.
- Abilene Christian also holds the second-best rebounding defense, limiting opponents to 32.3 rebounds per game.
- ACU is led by the top scorer in the Southland, Breanna Wright, who averages 16.8 points per game. The senior guard shoots at a 43.2 percent from three-point range, which is second best in the SLC. The 5-8 senior also rates seventh-best from the paint, while her 4.7 assists per game are 11th best. Wright was named the most recent SLC Player of the Week.
- Senior guard, Dominique Golightly, also is among the top scorers in the league, putting up 14.8 points per contest (5th SLC). The 5-11 guard ranks 12th in the Southland, averaging 6.1 boards per game (1.5 off, 4.6 def). Golightly has a league-best assist/turnover ratio of 1.6, while averaging 3.3 assists per game. The guard, who was named to the Southland Conference preseason First-Team, has picked up two SLC Player of the Week awards this season.
- Lexie Ducat is the most efficient shooter from the field, shooting at a 58.3 percent rate. The 6-1 forward is also bringing down an average 5.5 rebounds per game.
