AUSTIN -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's and women's track and field teams will take on one of the most competitive fields of the 2019 season when they travel to the campus of the University of Texas for the 92nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium. The meet contains over 200 college teams from around the country as well as a large contingency of Team USA athletes. Competition begins today (March 27) with the initial events of the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon and will run through Saturday, March 30.
The Cardinals are sending 22 student-athletes to compete, consisting of 13 men and 9 women. UIW will be competing in 16 different events including the men's decathlon, 1500m and 5000m distance races as well as the women's long and triple jump competitions.

CARDINALS TO WATCH
Indoor All-American
Sarea Alexander will participate in the long jump and triple jump this weekend. She leads the conference in both events this season and currently sits in the top-10 nationally after just two weeks.
Senior decathlete
Rodney Littlejohn will be participating in his first decathlon competition of the season after tying a UIW program record in the high jump at Baylor last weekend. He finished third in the Southland conference last season and improved to second in the heptathlon a month ago at the indoor conference championships.
Jorge Quintero will be competing in the men's 1500m race. He leads all Cardinals in the event this season after he posted a 3:53.21 at the UIW Spring Break Classic.
Deion Hardy will be making his outdoor 1500m debut alongside
Quintero as well.
Southland conference leader
Deja Keys will be competing in the women's 100m dash. Her 11.84 time at Baylor last week leads the SLC after two weeks of competition.
