SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team fell, 2-1, to Notre Dame on Friday night at Wolff Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the top of the first,
Shea Gutierrez came home on a passed ball to give UIW a 1-0 lead. Notre Dame evened the score with a run in the bottom of the fifth when Zack Prajzner scored on an Eric Gilgenbach single to tie the score at 1-1.
In the bottom of the seventh, Daniel Jung singled to drive in Carter Putz, giving Notre Dame a 2-1 victory.
NOTABLES
- Ryan Gonzalez extended his hitting streak to six games; three of those games are multi-hit games.
- Tyler Miller scattered a career-high 10 strikeouts over 6.0. He suffered the loss, allowing one run on five hits.
- Gutierrez, Taylor Smith, and Sean Arnold all recorded hits for UIW.
