FRISCO, Texas – Alia Henderson, a member of the University of the Incarnate Word women's cross country team, was named to the Academic All-Conference second team by the Southland Conference on Thursday morning.

The sophomore led the women's cross country team through five meets, including her first career win at the UIW Cross Country Invite, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Henderson contributed to the team's overall multi-year APR score of 1,000.

Henderson led the Cardinals to two team wins at the UIW Opener and the UIW Cross Country Invite. Her season was also highlighted by a tenth-place finish at the SLC championships, where she ran a personal-best 21:51.0 in the 6K, earning a second team all-conference nod.
