HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (27-29) | The Cardinals came out on a mission in the first set as they took an early 15-10 lead behind Clapp's seven kills. But the Ladyjacks showed why they are the top team in the conference as they fought their way back late. The set was back-and-forth as it had 10 tie scores and seven lead changes. UIW was up, 26-25, but saw that lead diminish quick as SFA score three quick points to take the first set.
SET 2 (18-25) AND SET 3 (14-25) | Losing the first set took a lot of the Cardinals as they struggled to find a rhythm against the Ladyjacks in the second and third sets. UIW was able to hang around in the second set as they cut it to 17-14, but after an SFA timeout, the Ladyjack seized the momentum. Monday had five kills in the second set, while Gonzaba had five digs. SFA took an early lead in the third set and never looked back en route to a set three win.
