Cardinals prepare for SLC tournament quarterfinal match against TAMUCC

CONWAY, Ark. -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team prepares for the quarterfinals of the Southland Conference Tournament to play Texas A&M- Corpus Christi on Wednesday night. The game is set for 8 p.m. CT.

THE CARDINALS
This is UIW's first post-season appearance at the Southland Conference Tournament in program history. The Cardinals surpassed the pre-season polls to come into the tournament seeded fourth overall, tallying more wins in the 2019 season than in the past three seasons combined.
 
UIW topped the Islanders last time out 1-0 in extra time (Sept. 20) in their first game in SLC play, outshooting TAMUCC 12-9.
 
Goalkeeper Cailey Croson collected one of her seven season shutouts this match, putting up five saves.
 
THE ISLANDERS
As the No. 5 seed, the Islanders come into Wednesday off a 3-1 loss against HBU (Nov. 1). TAMU-CC racked up 12 shots against the Huskies, with seven on frame, but ultimately fell to HBU's three goals on 21 shots (10 on goal).
