CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday night at the Dugan Wellness Center.

NOTABLES
- Julia Monday registered 13 kills and a .323 attack percentage against the Islanders. This marks her eighth game of the season – and her fourth in a row – with double-digit kills.
- Maddi Brown led the Cardinals with 11 digs. She has had double-digit digs in five contests, including the last two.
- Presley Blaylock had a team-best 25 assists on the night. This is her sixth match this season with double-digit assists. She has also had 20-plus assists in four contests.
- Carissa McGarity chipped in six kills and a .500 attack percentage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (15-25) | Texas A&M-Corpus Christi jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in the opening set. The Cardinals battled and cut the Islander lead to one (6-5), but TAMU-CC used a 7-1 run to stretch its advantage out. From there, the Islanders continued their offensive charge en route to a 25-15 set win.

SET 2 (17-25) | The Cardinals held an early 3-2 advantage, but from there the Islanders went on a 7-0 run to take the lead. UIW had a 3-1 run coming out of a timeout, but TAMU-CC continued to increase its advantage before securing the second-set win.

SET 3 (19-25) | UIW refused to give up, battling the Islanders through three lead changes and eight ties in the third set. The Cardinals cut TAMU-CC's lead to 16-15, but the Islanders ultimately clinched a 25-19 set win and the match victory.
