SAN ANTONIO -- An overtime golden goal by
Keeley Ayala in the second overtime secured a win the University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team, with a final score of 3-2, over Sam Houston State University on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Hannah Walsh scored her second career goal as the opening point of the match, bending a shot from the left to net one in the 12th minute.
The Cardinals advanced the score to 2-0 in the 35th minute as
Taylor Husfeld notched her first goal of the season. The Sam Houston Bearkats answered back with an open goal to make the score leading into halftime 2-1.
The score remained as such until late into the 89th minute when SHSU's Brooke Jones scored the night's second Bearkat goal forcing the game into overtime. The first overtime was highly physical but saw no scoring in all ten minutes, maintaining the 2-2 score.
UIW came into the second overtime determined to wrap things up. Ayala answered that call in the 102nd minute with a boot to the back of the net, stopping the clock and finalizing the Cardinal's 3-2 win over SHSU.
Goalkeeper
Cailey Croson got the win on the night, and racked up eight stud saves to protect UIW's win. The offensive line worked efficiently in their efforts, contributing nine shots (four on frame) and seven corner kicks alongside the three match goals scored.
