SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Houston Baptist on Thursday night at the McDermott Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (25-16) | The Cardinals got out to a quick, 2-0 lead thanks to kills from
Cameron Taylor and
Bethany Clapp, but the Huskies responded and took a 4-3 advantage. UIW continued to fight, but HBU used a 5-1 run to bring about set point before clinching the set win. Clapp led the Cardinals with five kills.

SET 2 (25-15) | The Huskies jumped out to an early 9-3 advantage and never looked back en route to a victory in set two. Clapp tacked on three more kills and had a .429 attack percentage in the second frame.

SET 3 (25-19) | UIW grabbed the first point with a kill from Taylor, but HBU rattled of seven straight points to take an advantage they would not give up. The Cardinals battled hard, cutting the lead to 10-9, but the HBU offense proved strong as the Huskies went on to secure the match victory.
