DOUBLE TROUBLE

Since Ayala's last time being awarded Offensive Player of the Week, she has put in work to lead the Cardinals in their 2019 offensive and defensive overhaul on play coordination and forceful threats to opponent lines.

Ayala has been on target from the penalty line with six made penalty kicks, which ranks first nationally among all NCAA women's soccer. In SLC play, she has taken and scored five penalty kicks.

Her offensive charge has been a contributing factor to UIW's 4th place standing throughout conference play. Against the Houston Baptist (Oct. 11), Ayala's two goals not only tacked on as her fifth multiple-point game, but also her fourth outing with a game-winning goal. The goal against the Huskies in overtime was the second time she secured an overtime win on the road for UIW.

On the season, Ayala has booted 50 shots (27 in SLC play which ranks fourth) and has seen 11 find the net for Cardinals' goals (seven of these goals were in conference play, which stands as second-highest). She also sits in third points and shots on goal.

The Cardinals are set to face McNeese on the road on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. CT.
