SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team opens the home season with a 2 p.m. (CT) dual against Our Lady of the Lake at the Mabry Tennis Center.
THE CARDINALS
UIW is 1-1 this season. The Cardinals fell to Rice on Sunday before finding their footing and topping Prairie View A&M in the second dual of the doubleheader.
The doubles pairing of
Sebastian Mortier/
Gabriel Evans won its doubles match against Rice, while
Paco Bendana/
Caleb Dyer and
Dennis Boisseau/
Zachary Vander Heiden secured doubles victories against PVAMU. Evans, Boisseau, Bendana, Mortier,
Oliver Valentinsson, and Dyer each won their singles matches against the Panthers as well.
THE SAINTS
OLLU was 5-6 in the 2018 season. The match against UIW on Friday opens the 2019 season for Saints, who competed in five tournaments in the fall.
UP NEXT
The Cardinals face Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. before squaring off against SMU on Feb. 10. at noon.
