DENTON, Texas-- The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team fell, 3-0, to North Texas in its first game of the 2018 season Friday night at the Mean Green Soccer Stadium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinals began the match with strong defense, holding the Mean Green charge as senior goalkeeper 
Sydney Huntsinger blocked multiple early UNT chances. In all, Huntsinger had three saves on the night.
 
North Texas ultimately broke through the UIW defense and scored the lone goal of the first half in the 44th minute. The Mean Green added two goals in the second half -- with one in the 52nd minute and one in the 66th minute -- to clinch the 3-0 win.

UP NEXT 
The Cardinals travel to Ruston, Louisiana, for a 7 p.m. contest against Louisiana Tech on Aug. 24 before returning home to host Houston in their home opener on Aug. 26. The match against Houston is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Benson Stadium.
