SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team fell, 11-1, to UTSA on Tuesday night at Roadrunner Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinals took the lead in the top of the second inning when
Eddy Gonzalez came home on a
Lee Thomas ground out, but UTSA scored three runs on two hits in the bottom of the frame to go up 3-1.

The Roadrunners extended their advantage in the bottom of the third, scoring on an RBI single to left field before adding a two-RBI home run over left center in the fifth inning for a 6-1 advantage.

UTSA hit another two-RBI home run over right field in the sixth frame. The Roadrunners then plated three runs on three hits in the eighth and went on to secure the 11-1 victory.

UIW travels to New Orleans for a three-game series against UNO beginning Friday. Friday's game is slated for 6:30 p.m., while Saturday is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday's finale is set for 1 p.m.
