SAN ANTONIO, Texas – With Hurricane Harvey bearing down on the South Texas region and a flash flood watch issued in San Antonio through Sunday, the University of the Incarnate Word has canceled all athletic events this weekend in the best interest of the student-athletes and staff.
 
The Cardinals were originally slated to host six games in the I10 Cardinal Classic Volleyball Tournament, as well as a home contest with cross-town rival UTSA in women's soccer.
 
UIW's annual Blessing of the Athletes, originally scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed. The event will be rescheduled for a later date.
