Snow and Ice Force Schedule Change for UIW Baseball

OREM, Utah – In one of the most unlikely headlines of the year, and definitely not a late April Fool's Day joke, the University of the Incarnate Word baseball team was forced to make a schedule change for its weekend series due to impending snow and Ice.

The San Antonio-based Cardinals would not normally have to deal with harsh winter conditions in mid-April, but UIW recently hit the road for a three-game non-conference series against Utah Valley in Orem.

Temperatures are expected to dip as low as 27 degrees over the weekend and the weather forecast calls for at least an inch of snow and ice accumulation. In response, the Cardinals and Wolverines have elected to play a double-header beginning at 3 p.m. central time on Friday, in an attempt to complete two games before the storm hits. A time and day for game three has yet to be determined.
