Cardinals Set for Pair of mid-week Games

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas–The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team will play back-to-back non-conference games this week. They'll play Prairie View A&M on Tuesday at 2 p.m., and then will come back home to host UTRGV on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
 
FIRST PITCH
The Cardinals were swept by Houston Baptist this past weekend, but will look to get back on track this week, before hosting New Orleans for a conference series on the weekend. UIW is 11-11 in non-conference games, and 3-5 in mid-week games.

The Vaqueros were just swept by Grand Canyon in a conference series on the road. They have struggled on the road, 3-14, compared to a terrific 18-8 home record. Jose Garcia leads the offense with impressive numbers. He has hit six homeruns, driven in 27 and walked 38 times, which is tied for sixth best in NCAA DI. The offense is hitting .265, and the pitching staff has an ERA of 5.03.
