ARLINGTON, TX – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team closed out the UT- Arlington Tournament on Sunday with a 10-2 loss against Saint Francis as the Cardinals were unable to snap an eight game losing streak.
 
Sarah Leal got the start for UIW (4-15, 0-0) and she only lasted 2.0 innings after giving up six earned runs on five hits. The Red Flash jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings to take control early. The Cardinals were able to score two runs in the bottom of the third after an RBI from 
Christy Trevino and 
Mikaela Flores.
 
Saint Francis would go on to score three runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to take a 10-2 victory over UIW. The Cardinals only had three hits as a team and they were led by Trevino and Flores at the plate.
 
Hayley Norton Led the Red Flash with two hits and four RBI while Abby Trahan picked up her sixth victory of the season after going five innings allowing just two earned runs.
