UIW Opens Road Swing Saturday at HBU

Cardinals looking for a season sweep of the Huskies

Houston, Texas – After having its season-high four-game winning streak at the hands of McNeese Thursday night, the Cardinals will look to start a new winning streak Saturday when they tip off against the HBU Huskies at 7 p.m. from Sharp Gym.

UIW commands the all-time series, 20-2, and won the previous meeting between the two schools last month in the Alamo City behind Jalin Hart and Simi Socks' 23 and 22 points, respectively.

Summary: HBU has lost five of its last six games, including an 82-77 defeat at UIW last month. The Huskies fell at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 90-79, despite 21 points from leading scorer Colter Lasher on Wednesday.
 
Lasher's 14.6 points per game ranks him 11th in the conference, while Reveal Chukwujekwu's 7.4 rebounds per game places him 5th in the SLC and 7th with a 79.7 free throw percentage. Braxton Bonds is T-12th with 3.0 assists per game and 5th with 1.8 steals per contest. As a team, the Huskies are 7th in the SLC with -0.7 scoring margin (76.3-77.3) and 3rd with a +3.8 rebounding margin (37.6-33.8).
