Cardinals Visit #15 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team will go on the road for a matchup against the #15 ranked Texas A&M on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
 
FIRST PITCH

The Cardinals (5-4) just finished a four-game home series against Central Michigan where they dropped the first two, but came back and took the final two games to split the series. This will be the first time this season that UIW will play outside of San Antonio.

The Aggies have won 30 of their last 32 midweek games since the 2014 season. Braden Shewmake earned SEC freshman of the week in the opening weekend and is hitting .469 and has 12 RBI in 32 at bats. The offense is hitting .342 and has already scored 70 runs in just seven games. The pitching staff has a 2.86 ERA and opponents are hitting .206 against them. Summary:
The Cardinals' offense is hitting .287 and is averaging 6.9 runs per game. Their last game was a walk-off win against Central Michigan last Sunday. Lee Thomas delivered the game-winning single in the tenth, after Ray Swyers hit a pinch-hit double to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth.
