SAN ANTONIO, Texas – UIW men's basketball looks to end a five-game losing streak Saturday when the Cardinals host Sam Houston at 3 p.m. on "Military Appreciation Day" at the McDermott Convocation Center.
OPENING TIP
The Bearkats were victorious over UIW last Saturday, 72-63, in Huntsville, despite a game-high 20 points from
Jalin Hart. SHSU now leads the all-time series, 3-1, after spotting UIW the first game in the all-time series, 85-74, Jan. 23, 2014, in San Antonio.

Summary: Visiting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi shot a staggering 61 percent from the floor (40-for-66), including a 67 percent clip (22-for-33) in the second half as the Islanders defeated UIW, 97-81, Wednesday night.
Sam Burmeister came off the bench to score a season-high 15 points.
Hart, who has led the Cardinals in scoring in three-straight games, has a team-best 16.2 points per game, which ranks him 5th in the Southland Conference.
Simi Socks comes in 6th with 15.7 points per game and
Shawn Johnson is 12th with 14.4. Johnson is 4th in the SLC 2.4 three-pointers made per game and his 6.7 rebounds per contest is good for 10th. Hart's 53.0 field-goal percentage ranks him 4th, and his 4.8 assists per game is good for 3rd. Socks is clutch at the charity stripe, with an 83.5 mark, which ranks him 3rd. As a team, the Cardinals are 9th in the SLC with a -3.4 scoring margin (77.4-80.8) and 11th with a -4.4 rebounding margin (34.0-38.4).
