SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team will play one final game at the McDermott Center before Thanksgiving as the squad welcomes the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for a 6 p.m. battle on Monday.
OPENING TIP
After battling three challenging opponents to open their 2017 campaign, the Cardinals (0-3) will face their only non-Division I opponent of the season when they host the Division III Crusaders (2-0).
UIW started the year with back-to-back road matchups at Oklahoma State and UT-Arlington, before hosting Texas State. The Cardinals will take on Utah, Weber State, UMASS, South Dakota, Rice, Houston and Texas Tech, all before entering Southland Conference play.
UMHB is coming off of a decisive 91-73 season-opening and home-opening victory over Texas Lutheran, 91-73.

The Crusaders average 91 points, while surrendering 73 per contest. Texas State shoots 43.2 percent from the floor and 31.3 percent from three-point range, while allowing 40.4 percent and 31.8 percent respectively. The Crusaders have a -3 rebounding margin and a -12 turnover margin this season.
UMHB is led by sophomore guard Hannah Holt, who racked up 35 points, 5 steals, 3 boards and 1 assist in the Crusaders' season-opener. Sophomore guard Alicia Blackwell contributed 9 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal, while senior center Haven Neal turned in 10 boards, 9 points, 2 assists and 2 steals against the Bulldogs.
