SAN ANTONIO, Tx – First half goals pushes the University of the Incarnate Word Men's soccer team past HBU Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinals (5-10-1, 3-6-0 WAC) got on the board early,
William Redmann put in a loose ball that was in the box in the 13
th minute of the game. UIW would then have a corner kick in the 18
th minute placed perfectly from Ryan Osburne, that would be headed in from
Joe Brown. The Cardinals led first half in shots 12 to 4. Houston Baptist (5-10-0, 2-8-0 WAC) got on the board in the second half with a shot from Gianluca Natera in the 70th minute.
The Cardinals enter Saturday's regular season finale with UTRGV two points from the final playoff spot, a win is worth three points.
LEADERS
Redmann and Brown each had one goal, Osborne had an assist, and
Brendan Brown recorded two saves
HBU's Gianluca had the lone goal for the Huskies, goalkeepers Chance Pope and Jorge Cabrera each recorded three saves
